Clear Communication Is Key To A Successful Year
Here’s What to Expect

School Status

Legacy uses School Status to communicate with families throughout the year. The first step is to set up your account properly.

New Parents: You will get an invitation sent to the email you provided during enrollment before the start of the school year.
Returning Parents: You will use your previous login information. Your new classroom information will be updated before the start of the school year.

You can access it online at: https://connect.schoolstatus.com/users/sign_in or you can download the app (QR Code provided to the right).

Once you have access, please go into your profile account settings in the upper right corner and click the gear:

Click Account Settings: Double check you have a mobile phone number entered and that it is correct. This is the number that will receive important text messages about school closings, etc.

Click Communication Preferences: This is where you select if you get an email when a message is sent or if you just want to get messages within the app. We cannot change these settings for you.

School Status has groupings called “Classrooms”. You will be invited your main Classroom, plus additional ones if you are signed up for Extended Care and/or Enrichment.

If you have your preferences set to receive emails, you will get an email every time a communication is posted in your Classroom. If you miss an email, you can log into School Status (online or via the app), view your Classroom, and see all past messages.

What Communication To Expect From The School

Every Friday, all parents should receive the Legacy Latest newsletter at 7am. Depending on your SchoolStatus settings, you will receive it via email, via the SchoolStatus app or both. If you do not receive it, please reach out to Angie Stock, our Marketing and Communications Director. The newsletter is a good tool to gauge that you are receiving messages. Angie can be reached at astock@legacyschoolne.com.
Throughout the week, you’ll receive SchoolStatus messages from staff with Classroom-specific information, plus messages from administration with school-wide announcements.
Periodically, you’ll get text notifications for important updates like weather-related school closures or last-minute announcements. You need to ensure your phone number is entered into your account settings accurately in order to receive these messages.
