Mrs. McKenzie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education. She taught for Omaha Public Schools for 35 years before retiring and coming to Legacy in 2022.
I am so excited to be working at Legacy school! I am especially enthusiastic about the small class sizes and the differentiated instruction.
What is your education background?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education. (University of Nebraska-Lincoln)
What is your work experience that relates to children?
I’ve taught for Omaha Public Schools for the last 35 years and just retired at the beginning of June. For the last 16 years, I have taught kindergarten; before that, I taught pre-kindergarten, 1st grade, and special education.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I love spending time with my husband and our two daughters and son-in-law. I am a huge Husker and Green Bay Packers fan. I also enjoy painting and am an avid reader.
