A NEW CHOICE IN EDUCATION
Ms. Cooper holds multiple certifications in both early childhood topics and computer technology. Ms. Cooper was the Site Director for Bellevue Public Schools before coming to Legacy in 2019.
I switched from the public school system to Legacy School for many reasons. However, I think the most important one is that I believe in the way Legacy School educates its students. The staff are all amazing to work with and it is obvious they care about children’s education and well-being. Working at Legacy School is one of the best decisions I have made and I’m honored to be a part of the program.
What is your education background?
I hold multiple certifications in both early childhood topics and computer technology. I am qualified as a program director by the NE DHHS for childcare and preschool programs. I constantly look for courses to take that keep me up to date on both childcare and technology.
What is your work experience that relates to children?
I began in the education system before I graduated high school. I worked as a substitute and then later became a preschool teacher for a program in Alabama. In addition, I spent many years as the secretary and bookkeeper for a public school system in Alabama where I also taught Adult Education and ESL. Upon moving to Nebraska, I became a Site Director for Bellevue Public Schools then I was presented with the opportunity to work at Legacy.
What are your interests and hobbies?
I spend most of my time on computers. With that said, I enjoy researching every topic out there. In addition, I am a published author and have spent time mentoring youth on how to write and publish their own books. Also, I enjoy reading, binge watching classic TV shows (new ones, too), and playing computer games of varying genres.
