Tennis shoes or rubber-soled shoes are required to be worn for safety purposes. Please do not send your child in cowboy boots or flip-flops. We ask that girls please wear shorts, pants or tights under dresses or skirts. Parents may also call the French Toast Customer Service number 800-373-6248 to place an order.
What is the tuition cost?
We invite you to come tour Legacy School and see the remarkable campus and facilities we have to offer. At that time, administrators, Buffy Baca and Kelly Pedersen, will go over class availability and tuition.
How do I pay my child’s tuition?
School tuition may be paid weekly, monthly, by semester or for the entire year up front through ACH. Tuition is not altered due to illness, vacation, days off, weather, holidays or other unforeseen circumstances.
Do you offer tuition assistance?
Families with more than one student enrolled receive a 10% sibling discount. Legacy School has an established 501C3/Non-profit Parent-Advisory Board, which can provide tuition assistance for families who apply and qualify. Legacy School also has a partnership with “The Children’s Scholarship Fund,” which provides scholarships to families who apply and qualify directly with their organization.
Children’s Scholarship Fund was founded in 1998 to give children from low-income families the opportunity of a private education. For further details regarding CSF, please visit their website at http://www.csfomaha.org.
Our students have an educational advantage while attending Legacy School; as they are taught on their level and at their pace. Legacy School’s combination of differentiated instruction, small class size and teacher/assistant teams provides students with an educational advantage, as they become enthusiastic learners and independent thinkers.

When does the school year start/end?
The school year for Legacy runs from the end of August through the end of May. We keep a traditional school year and fulfill Nebraska’s Department of Education’s mandatory minimum contact hours. First day of school: August 26, 2019.
What are the school's hours?
Elementary school runs Monday-Friday from 8:30am until 3:30pm. Morning Jr-K, Pre-K and Preschool classes start at 8:45am and end at 11:30am. Classes are offered Monday-Friday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday, depending on the specific class. Legacy also offers afternoon Pre-K and Enrichment classes from 12:30pm-3:15pm. Please see the “Preschool/Pre-K Classes” page on this website for further details.
Do you offer before or after school care?
Before and after school care is available through Legacy School’s extended care program. Before school care opens at 7:00am. After school care begins when the school day ends and runs until 6:00pm. Extended care is open when Legacy School is not holding classes throughout the school year.
Do you have a summer program?
Camp Legacy is Legacy School’s summer program. Camp Legacy and Legacy School are owned and operated by the same administrative team. Elementary age campers may attend Camp Legacy’s Upper Camp for a true outdoor summer day camp experience (9:00-3:30). Lower campers (preschool age) may attend a mini-day (9:15-12:30) or full day (9:15-3:00) of camp. Before and after camp care is available, if needed. Camp Legacy counselors facilitate daily activities including flag raising ceremony, arts & crafts, camp songs & skits, special events, sports, water activities, and plenty of outdoor time! Camp Legacy registration is held in February of each year and is not exclusive to current Legacy School students. We welcome new campers every summer. For more information on either our Lower Camp or Upper Camp, visit our camp website: www.camplegacyomaha.com.
What type of security does the school building have?
All exterior doors are always locked. All visitors are buzzed into the building and must check in at the front office. At the time of registration, parents must list other adults to whom we may release their child. All Legacy School staff members are trained in Standard Response Protocol actions for lockout, lockdown, evacuation, and shelter security.
Is there breakfast or lunch served?
Legacy School offers breakfast for students each morning at 8:00am. Lunch is served in the cafeteria daily and is open to all Legacy students. Preschool, Pre-K and Jr-K students enrolled in morning classes who want to stay for “Lunch Bunch” or students enrolled in afternoon classes who want to come early for “Lunch Bunch” are welcome to do so. Lunch menus are available online through Sycamore. A 15-25 minute outdoor recess accompanies lunchtime every day.
How can I become involved?
Legacy School offers a variety of ways for parents to become involved. From family events to room parents, book fairs to read alouds, parents are always welcome to volunteer at Legacy School.
