Students at Legacy School Omaha enjoyed a day off on October 18th. During that time, teachers benefited from a half-day in-service. Teachers in the Early Childhood Program participated in a Literacy in-service. Meanwhile, teachers in Legacy School’s Elementary Program reviewed Measure of Academic Progress (MAPS) testing results.
What Legacy School Elementary Teachers Learn From MAPS testing Results
1.) They Learn Where Each Student is Academically
When going over MAPS testing results, teachers can indicate where each student is in their educational journey in Math and Reading. With this information, teachers at Legacy School can see what each student is strong in and where they may need more focused attention.
2.) They Learn Which Students Work Best Together
Teachers at Legacy School place students together that are alike in their learning journeys, allowing them to learn at their own pace. In contrary to a one-size fits all approach, students learn right where they are. MAPS testing results enable teachers to gain insight into which students work best together to launch them forward in their educational journey.
3.) They Learn To Develop Personalized Learning Goals
While students work together in groups with a teacher frequently, they also get individualized instruction with one of two teachers in each classroom. With that said, each teacher and student learn together and develop learning goals to achieve the best education possible.
