Every other month, Legacy School Omaha partners with a non-profit organization in the Omaha area. This project is called the Giving Tree Project, which began in 2008. Therefore, starting November 1st through December 6th, Legacy School, and USMC Toys for Tots are uniting together to spread holiday cheer for children in the Omaha area.
Giving Tree Project: Legacy School Partners with USMC Toys for Tots Omaha
What is the Giving Tree Project?
When Legacy School first opened in 2008, administrators Buffy Baca and Kelly Pedersen knew they wanted to implement a program for their students that would give back to the Omaha community. Shortly after, the idea of the Giving Tree Project was born. Based on the book The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, the Giving Tree Project gives students a sense of community and caring.
November/December’s Project
Starting November 1st through December 6th, Legacy is partnering with the USMC local Toys for Tots program to provide new, unwrapped toys for children for Christmas!
For what ages are we collecting?
We are collecting toys for newborns-age 11. Toys can be either for boys or girls.
How long does the donation run?
The donation runs from November 1st-December 6th. After December 6th, the toys will be picked up.
Where do my toy donations go?
Donations will go to children that reside in Omaha, Council Bluffs, Lincoln, Nebraska City, Grand Island, Hastings, and the surrounding areas of these communities. As a result, every donation received will stay within the local area.
Where do I drop off my donations?
Legacy School has Toys for Tots donation bins located in the main entrance of Legacy School. Place new, unwrapped toys in the containers and watch our love grow for the children in our local community!

This scholarship can be used for college or trade school upon graduation from high school. We are very excited to give back to our students. We know each child has the potential to succeed at whatever goal they set for themselves. Can’t wait to help your student celebrate their high school accomplishments and continue to their higher education.
