Private Nonsectarian Elementary School in Omaha, Nebraska

Legacy School in Omaha, Nebraska, offers parents a nonsectarian choice when it comes to private school options for their child’s elementary education. Located on the corner of 168th and Ida, Legacy School provides small class sizes, differentiated instruction, outdoor education, and more to make your child’s learning journey exception. While the 2019-20 school year is well underway, let us show you why your search for private schools for next year is over.

Why Legacy School, a Nonsectarian Private School, For Your Child’s Elementary Education?

1.) Small Class Sizes

Growing class sizes are a concern for many parents throughout the Omaha, Nebraska, area. And because of the exponential growth with little to no extra help in the classroom, children are not getting the attention they need, when they need it. On the other hand, elementary classes at Legacy School have no more than 18 students with two teachers (a teacher and a teacher assistant), giving each classroom a ratio of 9:1. As a result, this student-to-teacher ratio helps students reach their full potential. In other words, they receive help and attention when they need it.

2.) Differentiated Instruction

Because of the small class sizes that Legacy School has to offer, students receive a student-focused education. Also, teachers at Legacy use differentiated instruction to guide student learning. Instead of teaching to the entire class, instruction is delivered in small groups or one-on-one. This way, elementary students can learn at their own pace, and the teacher can teach each child through subject mastery.

3.) Outdoor Education

Not only does Legacy School offer small class sizes that give elementary students the ability to receive a student-focused education, Legacy also offers students 11 acres of land to learn and explore. As teachers bring their lessons outdoors, students have a chance to leave the traditional classroom setting and learn outside. Research shows that students are happier and have a higher motivation to learn when they get to experience the natural world. Also, elementary students at Legacy School get three recesses per day. Three breaks give students the ability to reset and refresh between instructional class time.
