Giving Tree Project: Legacy School Partners with Dreamweaver Omaha
What is the Giving Tree Project?
When Legacy School first opened in 2008, administrators Buffy Baca and Kelly Pedersen knew they wanted to implement a program for their students and families that would give back to the Omaha community. Shortly after, the idea of the Giving Tree Project was born. Based on the book The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, the Giving Tree Project gives us the ability to bring joy and love to the Omaha community.
February’s Giving Tree Project
Starting February 3rd-February 12th, Legacy School is partnering with the Dreamweaver Foundation in Omaha to provide terminally ill senior citizens with Valentine’s Day cards!
What kind of Valentine’s Day cards should I create?
The sky is the limit! Make a card at home by hand with some construction paper. Or you can buy one from the store. Add cute drawings, stickers, and MORE to spread joy and love to senior citizens.
Where do I place my Valentine Day cards when they are finished?
There will be a basket on the informational table in the lobby for you to place your finished Valentine Day cards.
The mission of the Dreamweaver Foundation in Omaha is to fulfill the dreams of seniors who are terminally ill, giving them experiences they will never forget.
So far, over 75 dreams have been granted in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. To learn more about the Dreamweaver Foundation in Omaha visit: https://dreamweaver.org/
