Slowing Down During the Omaha Christmas Season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but also the busiest time of the year. Between Omaha Christmas programs for your children to Christmas shopping for your family, the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season is a lot to take in. With Christmas being only two and a half weeks away, we’re all feeling the stress. So, what are some ways to slow down to make the Christmas holiday more meaningful this season?

Four Ways to Slow Down the Omaha Christmas Season

1.) Give Back to your Omaha Community

One way to slow down and celebrate the Christmas season is to give back to your local community. Since you are already shopping for holiday gifts anyways, why not buy a few extra holiday gifts for those that are in need. Better yet, adopt a family for Christmas! When we give back, no matter what season, joy spreads to those around us.

2.) Take a Drive to View Christmas Lights

Pack the kids up in the car and grab some popcorn, there are hundreds of homes in the Omaha area that decorate with Christmas lights and inflatables- some even have holiday music that you can tune to. Driving slowly down streets and watching the twinkle in your children’s eyes, makes for a memorable and meaningful Christmas season. 3.) Watch Old-Fashioned Christmas Movies

Remember the Christmas movies that you use to watch as a child? The ones that bring back all the memories of Christmas day? Find some of your favorites and watch them together as a family. There’s nothing better than snuggling up with the ones you love. Click the link to see what movies are on this year: 25 Days of Christmas

4.) Make a Handmade Ornament for Someone You Love

Skip the store and have your child make a handmade ornament at Legacy School this Saturday, December 7th, from 9:00 am-12:00 pm. There will be four different ornaments to choose from. When your child is done making the ornament, head over to the gift wrapping station to get the ornament wrapped for someone special this Christmas season. Don’t bother changing into different clothes that morning, come in your cozy Christmas PJ’s and enjoy Christmas music while your child creates their unique ornament!
