We’ve all thought about it: Is the use of technology good for your child’s educational journey? The answer to that question is “Yes”! Now that we are living in the 21st century, technology is intertwined in almost everything we do-how we work, play, live and learn . Therefore, it is important to integrate and implement technology into your child’s life at a young age. The following are a few classroom technology benefits.
Classroom Technology Benefits
Prepares students for the future
In today’s world, a job that once didn’t require technology skills now does. When technology is used in the classroom, it gives students the ability to learn the technological skills they will need in the workforce-such as solving complex problems and collaborating with others through a social channel.
Promotes learning at the students own pace
Technology provides differentiation in the classroom, giving all students the opportunity of successful learning. With the use of technology, a teacher is able to tailor each student’s needs and abilities to each activity. This allows students to learn on their level at their own pace.
Provides students with resources
With technology, it is easy for students to find answers to their questions. The world wide web is endless when it comes to researching information.
classroom technology benefits @ Legacy Private School in Omaha
Teachers at Legacy School use technology to differentiate their students learning. While one student may understand their alphabet and are working towards their sounds, another student might be in the beginning phase of understanding their alphabet. Coupled with individualized instruction, technology gives students the chance to work on their level at their own pace.
Technology tools that Legacy utilizes in its preschool-6th grade classes are laptop computers, Ipads, smart interactive whiteboards and Elmo projectors.
“Technology provides my students with an opportunity to differentiate their learning and gives them a way to practice their 21st century skills,” said Multi-Age teacher, Jennifer Jensen.
